Carolyn Franks MSW, LCSW, O.P
I believe each person has profound dignity and is created in the image and likeness of God. If you choose to begin treatment with me, I will work to honor you as such and collaborate with you to reach your therapeutic goals. As a Christian, I believe it beneficial to include God in all areas of our life, including mental health and I welcome weaving Christian beliefs into your treatment plan should you desire to do so.
I take an integrative approach to counseling and incorporate several theoretical approaches including EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavior therapy, elements of IFS therapy by incorporating parts work, attachment theory, and Catholic mindfulness/prayer.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Emdria trained EMDR clinician. I have a passion for EMDR and its eight-stage protocol. EMDR can be a powerful healing tool, especially when working with trauma. This therapeutic approach prepares each person with grounding, safety, and education. We can work together to find healing and integration, leading to a better way of coping with life’s stressors and triggers.
I am available for appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
